GIVE TREES A CHANCE

The warm and wet uplands of North Hilo and Hamakua Districts
are well suited for certain species of hardwoods
such as the "Queensland Maple"
These species can reach maturity in half or less the time it would take for Koa,
though not as beautiful perhaps, they have great utility as lumber stock.

There are at least thirty species of tropical hardwoods that are grown on this
Big Island, let us select which would do well on your property.

Plant them now so that your grandson can harvest them
to mill into stock to make the kitchen cabinets for his new home,
and a rocking chair for you

Trees are a renewable resource which can help provide materials for our young people to work with in order to create
useful products such as flooring, door and window frames, cabinetry, furniture, and even agricultural buildings.  Trees
can become a resource which will help create jobs for our youth so they can remain here with their ohana and enjoy
their lives living on this beautiful and special island.   RENEWABLE RESOURCES CAN CREATE JOBS.
